Edgewater Glen Association (EGA) Website Announced!
We’re pretty excited about this…
If you live in Edgewater Glen and want to be more engaged with your local community, the new EGA website was just announced this morning:
“The Edgewater Glen Association (EGA) is proud to announce our new website: www.edgeglen.com
Along with the accompanying Facebook page, we now have more tools to promote and inform our community.
We’ve been able to include lots of historical information on this new site, including 97 issues of past EGA Newsletters going back over 40 years!
We’ve also got lots of information about Edgewater Glen events. We’ve included a ‘Block Parties’ section to the ‘Events’ category in an attempt to keep our residents more fully informed about potential ‘difficult street parking days’. We’ll be working with the 48th ward office to obtain this information, but it would be a great courtesy to us if Block Party Coordinators would also contact us directly with the dates\locations of scheduled Block Parties so we could add them more quickly to the Calendar & Block Party sections of the site. A ‘Contact Us’ link is on the Home Page. As a reminder, we’d ask that no Block Parties be held during the All-Edgewater Garage Sale Sat. June 6, 2015 and the EGA Garden Walk Sunday July 12, 2015 in order to better accommodate increased street traffic.
If you’re receiving this email, you’re already on our ‘EGA Listserv’, which will continue to be the primary source of more time-sensitive information.
We’d also strongly recommend that all EG residents sign up for Harry Osterman’s 48th Ward Office email alerts. His site is included in our ‘Neighborhood Links‘ section and instructions for signing up are in the upper right-hand corner of his Home Page. The 48th Ward Office will continue to be the primary source for Public Safety information and lots of other city-wide issues . Harry’s Friday emails are a wonderful source for all kinds of information on events and organizations in our community.
We’ll eventually hand-distribute a flyer or newsletter announcing this new website, but in the meantime, we’d appreciate it if you could pass along this information to any neighbors who may not be on our EGA Listserv.
What else would you like to see on this site? We’d love to consider adding appropriate photos, events, categories- ‘Contact Us‘!
We think that Edgewater Glen is a special, unique neighorhood and with your help, we’ll continue to work to preserve and improve it!” – The Edgewater Glen Association
