The Edgewater Historical Society and the Chicago Public Library are pleased to co-host the program, readings, and author signing of Bill Hillman’s much acclaimed first novel The Old Neighborhood, a sometimes raw historical novel about growing up in a gang in Edgewater in the latter part of the 20th century.
Bill will also read from his newly released memoir Mozos, about growing up to be a writer in Edgewater and then heading off to Spain for the running of the bulls. After the presentation, the audience is invited to join Bill and the Go Edgewater team for a walking tour of our neighborhood from Senn High School to Edgewater Hospital and then to the Edgewater Historical Society museum to reprise many scenes from the book.
The event is free; light refreshments; books available for purchase and signing.
