“Microburst Storm” Tree Casualty Map for Edgewater & Rogers Park
We thought some of you might be interested in seeing where all the trees we lost in Sunday’s crazy “microburst storm” were located in Edgewater & Rogers Park. While it is a little tricky to map every tree in the neighborhood without confirming in person, we started by pulling the data from the City’s Open Data Portal for all the 311 Tree Debris Removal Requests for Sunday and yesterday to make an educated guess.
Not surprisingly, there were more requests than usual (56 total for the two neighborhoods hardest hit). If you are interested in seeing where the requests were located, we plotted them on the map below.
Hopefully we can get some of the trees we lost replaced.

You missed one big tree that went down northeast corner of Fargo
and a medium sized tree middle of block south side of Fargo west of Ashland
Cool project.

Id like to share this vid I made from 8/2/15. Not tree related, but shows a building near Farwell and Western
with the roof torn off from the storm. Ceiling insulation was blowing all over everything.
