From the Neighbors: Andersonville Arts Weekend at Murray & White

2014 Artist Pic

Very cool. Our Edgewater Glen neighbors JT & Travis (owners of Murray & White) wanted to invite the neighborhood out to their store for Andersonville Arts & Design Weekend.

For the second year they will be partnering with Misericordia and their Creative Arts Program (October 9 – 11th). Artwork created by the residents of Misericordia will be on display at their store and available for sale. All proceeds from the artwork sales as well as Misericordia Creative Arts merchandise go directly to the great work Misericordia does for their residents and the community. Last year they were able to raise over $1,600 for the program and are hoping to grow that to $3,000 this year.

If you are interested in checking it out, stop by and say hi to your neighbors. Thanks for sending this in guys!

FRIDAY, October 9th
6:00PM – 10:00PM
Please join us for a Champagne Reception & Artists meet-and-greet. Several resident artists will be in attendance, meeting and talking with buyers of their artwork and offering insight into their creative process, discussing programming and enjoying a night in celebration and appreciation of their talents.

Art Exhibit and Sale

The Creative Arts Program at Misericordia Home is comprised of six art programs, each focusing on a different skill, medium or challenge. Each program is led by an art instructor, support staff, and volunteers who work side by side with our resident artists in a collaborative effort to create these beautiful pieces of art. These programs facilitate empowerment through art by giving residents a voice through visual expression and by sharing their achievements with families, friends, and the community.
