Edgewater Chamber’s ‘Holiday Hunt’ to Send Shoppers Looking for Bounty
The Edgewater Chamber of Commerce and SSA #26 are playing a game of hide and seek this holiday season, and invite local shoppers to join in the fun. It’s called the Edgewater Holiday Hunt.
The Chamber will “hide” 75 bags filled with local goodies – gift certificates, gifts, and Edgewater swag – in stores along the Broadway business corridor over the course of the next five weeks. Each bag will contain items valued at over $40. When a shopper finds a bag, they’ll find instructions encouraging them to post about the bag on social media and tag it #shopedgewater.
The Holiday Hunt will kick off next week on Small Business Saturday, November 28. Small Business Saturday is a national campaign to promote supporting independent businesses during the first big weekend of holiday shopping. Local businesses in Edgewater will also be offering discounts and special deals to shoppers on Small Business Saturday. For a complete list of Small Business Saturday offerings, see the Chamber’s website.
“The Holiday Hunt is a fun way to increase awareness of and drive business to Edgewater retailers,” said Edgewater Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Manager Jenn Hackman. “We hope that it will encourage residents to think about how local businesses can fit into their holiday gift lists.”
