Did you know that teens can earn money while learning how to cook, sing opera and take photographs?
Organizations including One Summer Chicago and After School Matters will be on hand to accept job applications tomorrow at the Broadway Armory (5917 N Broadway) from 1:00-4:00 for the 48th Ward Youth Resource Fair.
Through the One Summer Chicago program, they will have more than 50 job opportunities to offer in local businesses and non-profit organizations for young people ages 16-24. Younger kids are also encouraged to attend to learn about interesting camp opportunities as well as local enrichment programs. Volunteers will be available at the fair to offer one-on-one support for teens interested in creating applications and resumes.
Senn High School will also be a Greencorps site this summer, offering more than 60 slots for teens ages 15-19 to learn about biking and community gardening throughout the 48th Ward while earning money.
The deadline for applying for One Summer Chicago jobs in our community is Tuesday, May 3.
