We’ve got a number of Edgewater Glen neighbors who are artists in (or have helped organize) the Edgewater Arts Festival this year. If you are interested in checking it out, doors open at 11:00 today on Granville & Broadway.

Very cool. Our neighbor Margie just sent in these photos of the latest Little Free Library that has popped up in Edgewater Glen over at Edge of Sweetness Bakery.
Pictured in these photos are our neighbors Kate (the owner of Edge of Sweetness), Margie (who worked on the garden out front), Phillip (the artist), Tom & Taylor (who build and install many of our Little Free Libraries and organize the program), and Katrina from the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce.
Apparently, this puts Edgewater at 108 Little Free Libraries and counting!

In case you missed the notice from Alderman Osterman yesterday:
“In partnership with the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce, Edgewater Development Corporation, and 40th Ward Ald. O’Connor, my office invites neighbors to join us for community visioning for Clark St. between Ridge Ave. and Devon Ave.
As the rest of our community has seen economic growth and new development, we believe it is time to focus on this northern stretch of Clark St. and to work to connect it to Andersonville to the south and Rogers Park to the north.
Please save the following dates to hear about recent and upcoming developments in this area, including the new Metra station and infrastructure improvements. These events will also include local food vendors, live music, sports game screenings, and more. I will share more details in the coming weeks.” – Alderman Osterman

The North Lake Shore Drive Public Meeting was on July 12th with over 260 people in attendance providing feedback on the initial range of alternatives. Participants watched the introductory video and PowerPoint presentation below, viewed exhibits, and provided their feedback through an online survey. If you missed the meeting but are interested in checking it out, all the meeting materials have been posted on their project website.
Given that Lake Shore Drive’s northern terminus is in Edgewater, this project has the potential to alter traffic patterns in the neighborhood.
Comments will be accepted through the entire project development process. However, to become part of the public record of this Public Meeting, comments and survey responses must be received or postmarked by August 9, 2017
You can stay up to date with the project at their website: northlakeshoredrive.org
